Agriculture will be represented on the Climate Change Task Force appointed by Gov. Tony Evers.
Agriculture representatives on the task force will include Wisconsin Farmers Union watershed coordinator Bill Hogseth; Wisconsin Farm Bureau members Chris Pollack of Ripon, Doug Rebout of Janesville and Joe Bragger of Independence; and Brad Pfaff, secretary-designee of the state Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.
The governor created the 31-member task force last week through an executive order. It also will include representatives from manufacturing, energy, education and the state Legislature, and will be chaired by Lt. Gov. Mandella Barnes.
In creating the task force, the governor said science has been ignored for too long and that “we can’t afford to do it any longer.”
He gave the group until August to create recommendations for mitigating and adapting to climate change’s effects.
