U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin worked to pass bipartisan legislation, the Natural Resources Management Act, which reauthorizes permanent funding for the Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF). The legislation passed the Senate today and also includes improvements to the North Country National Scenic Trail and requires the development of strategic plans for reducing the presence of invasive species on federal lands and in federal waters.
“Wisconsin has long been a national leader in conservation and we have a proud tradition of hunting, fishing and enjoying the great outdoors. I’m proud to work across party lines to protect these traditions for future generations and safeguard the natural resources we enjoy in Wisconsin,” said Senator Baldwin. “Wisconsinites understand that protecting public access to the great outdoors is critical to our quality of life and to our economy, so that’s why I worked to permanently reauthorize the Land and Water Conservation Fund, combat invasive species and pass on a better Wisconsin to the next generation.”
