Registration is now open for Ag LEAD, a new agricultural promotion and education summit. The summit will be held March 8-9, 2019 at the Red Lion Hotel in Appleton.
Ag LEAD stands for leadership, engagement, advocacy and development. The summit will give attendees the opportunity to learn more about tools, resources, ideas and best practices when advocating for agriculture and conducting promotional events. Keynote speakers for the event include Donna Moenning with the Center for Food Integrity and Jay Hill a New Mexico farmer, entrepreneur and agricultural advocate.
The conference will be broken into four tracks: Leading Your Own Self Development, Engaging Consumers, Advocating for Agriculture and Developing Agribusinesses. Workshop topics will include building trust with consumers, effective conversations about agriculture, food labeling and more.
The event is being coordinated by WFBF’s Promotion and Education Committee whose mission is to build awareness and understanding of agriculture and provide leadership development for the agricultural community. Anyone interested in ag promotion or education is encouraged to register. Registration information, hotel accommodations and an agenda for the conference is available at wfbf.com/events/ag-lead-summit/.
“The Ag LEAD Summit is the first event of its kind hosted by our committee,” WFBF Promotion and Education Committee chair Andrea Brossard said. “Registration is open to anyone interested in agriculture education and promotion. We want everyone to come together with the common goal of effectively engaging with consumers.”
Rural Mutual Insurance Company is co-sponsor of the Ag LEAD Summit, which is scheduled to take place on a biennial basis.
