The April USDA, National Agricultural Statistics Service – Agricultural Prices report is out and mixed trends were reported for Wisconsin agriculture prices.
The report found that in April 2018 average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $3.52 per bushel. This was up $0.06 from March and $0.13 above the previous April.
The April soybean price in the badger state was reported, at $9.77 per bushel, down $0.03 from March but $0.44 above the previous April.
Oat price in April was $3.24 per bushel, down $0.07 from the March price but $0.69 above April 2017.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $154.00 per ton in April, up $30.00 from March and $65.00 above April 2017. The alfalfa hay price averaged $165.00 per ton in April, up $30.00 from March and $72.00 above the previous April. The other hay price averaged $120.00 per ton in April, up $30.00 from March and $50.00 above the April 2017 price.
Then the April average price was $16.30 per cwt for milk, up $0.10 from March but $0.90 below April a year ago. The U.S. all milk price for April was $15.80 per cwt, 50 cents lower than Wisconsin’s price but 20 cents higher than last month’s U.S. price.
