Darlington Farm Will Act As Backdrop For The Meal

Wisconsin Farm to Table is excited to announce the date and location of the fifth annual Farm to Table dinner and fundraiser. Scheduled for Saturday, August 4th, the elegant dinner will be hosted at Darlington Ridge Farms, a dairy situated among the lush fields of Southwest Wisconsin.

This memorable dining experience is designed to bring consumers and farmers together to explore the world of agriculture – focusing on animal care, environmental practices, and the safe and pure food products consumed at family dinner tables throughout the year. Wisconsin agriculture will be discovered through a unique on-farm culinary experience. Guests may explore the taste of Wisconsin’s agricultural diversity from prestigious cheeses, wines, meats, vegetables, and beyond.

The evening’s creations will be prepared and presented by local chef and self-proclaimed farm kid, Tyler Sailsbery. Chef Sailsbery is the head chef and owner of The Black Sheep in Whitewater, Wis., where he works with local farmers to craft unique dishes, packed with fresh ingredients and divine flavors. Chef Tyler also works as the executive chef and general manager for Fin & Hooves, inside the Whitewater Country Club, which offers a casual and fun atmosphere.

Darlington Ridge Farms, LLC, located at 24425 St. Peters Rd, Darlington, Wis., is a labor of love for managing partners Jim and Katie DiGangi. Hailing from New York state, Jim is a third-generation farmer who grew up on his family’s 40-cow dairy farm. After earning his bachelor’s degree and gathering farm management experience in Idaho and California, he headed to the Midwest and Darlington Ridge Farms, LLC was established in 2008. Katie is a sixth-generation farmer who grew up on her family’s dairy farm in Southwest Wisconsin. She works off the farm helping local dairy producers and veterinarians to produce a safe and nutritious food supply and has a passion for cow comfort and health with Zoetis.  While raising their daughter Mila to love the farm, the DiGangi’s work alongside their employees to keep the 2,600 Holstein dairy cows and the land well cared for. The milk from their farm is shipped through DFA (Dairy Farmers of America), and is crafted in various delectable dairy products at local milk and cheese plants.

“We’re excited to share a glimpse of the life we get to enjoy daily while offering consumers greater perspective of where their food comes from,” says Katie DiGangi.

“We hope the event will provide an opportunity for attendees to connect with our farm and the local farms supplying the ingredients while learning about the stewardship practices of all the farms,” shares Jim DiGangi.

The fifth-annual Farm to Table dinner will incorporate a farm tour at 5:00 p.m., followed by a cocktail hour and live music entertainment at 6:00 p.m., and conclude with a catered dinner complimented by a supplier stories program at 7:00 p.m.

To secure dinner tickets and for more information, visit www.wifarmtotable.com, call event contact, Kari Kuehl, at (262) 203-4016, or email [email protected]. The event is open to the public and specifically influential people in the surrounding region that are interested in learning more about agriculture and where their food originates. The event is limited to the first 100 guests. Those interested are encouraged to purchase tickets early.

Wisconsin Farm to Table is a non-profit event organization established in 2013 to offer an on-farm experience, with a farm tour, elegant dinner, and dialogue between those interested in agriculture and where their food originates. Money raised from annual event is donated to a local non-for-profit of the host farm’s choice.
