Montgomery Gentry And Casting Crowns Two Headliners

Wisconsin State Fair officials are excited to announce another great addition to the lineup of shows slated for the Main Stage presented by Potawatomi Hotel & Casino during this year’s fair. The Wisconsin State Fair will run Thursday, Aug. 2 through Sunday, Aug. 12 at Wisconsin State Fair Park in West Allis.

Returning to State Fair after their inspiring 2015 show, Christian rock band Casting Crowns will take the Main Stage on Monday, Aug. 6. Following a recent holiday tour with Christian duo and 2017 State Fair headliner for KING & COUNTRY, the group will showcase hits like “Praise You in This Storm,” “Until the Whole World Hears” and “Glorious Day.” Band members Mark, Juan, Chris, Megan, Melodee, Brian and Josh got their start in Daytona Beach in 1999, and have since sold more than 10 million records. The group recently released its newest album, “The Very Next Thing,” which features the single “One Step Away.”

Fresh off the release of his newest album, “All In,” contemporary Christian singer-songwriter Matthew West, known for singles like “More” and “You Are Everything,” will open the 7:30 p.m. show. All seating for this show is reserved, and tickets will be $39 and $29.

As previously announced, legendary country duo Montgomery Gentry will rock the Main Stage on opening night of the fair, Thursday, Aug. 2.  Eddie Montgomery’s emotional return to the stage after the passing of his friend and band-mate Troy Gentry will support the duo’s final album, “Here’s to You,” which features the single “Better Me.” The duo is best known for hits like “Something to Be Proud Of” and “My Town.”  They have been nominated for multiple Country Music Association, Academy of Country Music and Grammy awards, winning the American Music Award for Favorite New Country Artist and the Academy of Country Music award for Top New Vocal Duo or Group in 2000.

Southern rockers The Steel Woods will open the 7:30 p.m. show. All seating for this show is reserved, and tickets will be $29 and $19.

Tickets for both shows go ON SALE Friday, Feb. 9 at 9 a.m. at WiStateFair.com and the State Fair Ticket Office. Print-at-home and mail-order options are available online, and service fees will apply. The Ticket Office is located at 7722 W. Greenfield Ave. in West Allis and is open Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All Main Stage tickets INCLUDE FAIR ADMISSION when purchased prior to entering the Fair Park.

About Pam Jahnke

Getting up at 2 in the morning might shock some of her listeners, but for Pam Jahnke, it’s part of the business. Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200-acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand.
