8 Chefs Will Go Head To Head

The 30th annual Wisconsin Pork Association’s “Taste of Elegance” will feature eight chefs from all across the state.  The goal – feature pork at the center at the plate.

Mandy Masters with the Wisconsin Pork Association says interest was very strong for this year’s Taste of Elegance, February 1st in conjunction with the Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells.   The event, which is open to the public, allows chefs to use their creative flare featuring pork.  Top prize is $750 cash and a trip to the annual “Pork Summit” which is a great learning opportunity for the culinary masters.

For tickets to this delicious event, go to wppa.org.

This year’s competing chefs include:

Chef Joe Schneider – Johnny’s Italian Steak – Middleton

Chef Corey Arndt – Chartwell’s on the UW-Green Bay campus

Chef Amy Huo – Informalist – Eau Claire

Chef Rachel Carr – Pastiche at The Metro – Milwaukee

Chef Michael Bressler – Red Circle Inn – Nashotah

Chef Diane Pedersen – Living Oaks – Iola

Chef Kevin Dahlen – Machine Shed – Pewaukee

Chef Robert Mullinax – Kalahari Resort – WI Dells

About Pam Jahnke

Getting up at 2 in the morning might shock some of her listeners, but for Pam Jahnke, it’s part of the business. Born in Northeastern Wisconsin, Pam Jahnke grew up in agriculture. Raised on her family’s 200-acre dairy farm, she learned the “farm work ethic” first hand.
