The Wisconsin Honey Producers Association is proud to announce the selection of the 2018 Wisconsin Honey Queen and Princess.
Hannah Sjostrom of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin was selected as the 2018 Wisconsin Honey Queen. Hannah is the daughter of Doug and Kim Sjostrom of Maiden Rock, Wisconsin. She is a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire studying Nursing. In January 2019, Hannah will represent Wisconsin at the American Honey Queen competition at the American Beekeeping Federation Convention in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Lexi Gegare of Milton, Wisconsin was selected as the 2018 Wisconsin Honey Princess. Lexi is the daughter of Debbie Gegare of Janesville, Wisconsin and Paul Gegare of Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is a senior at the University of Wisconsin – LaCrosse majoring in Therapeutic Recreation.
Hannah and Lexi will spend 2018 promoting the beekeeping industry in Wisconsin. They are available to speak with civic groups and appear at fairs, festivals, and farmers markets. They will also give presentations in schools about honeybees and the beekeeping industry.
