Enjoy Takeover Tuesday With Farm Bureau

Pigs may not be the first thing that comes to mind when talking about Wisconsin agriculture, but during October Pork Month Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is helping pig farmers share their stories with the Takeover Tuesday and Ask A Farmer Friday programs.

“Consumers want to learn more about where their food comes from,” said Sarah Marketon Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Director of Communications. “Wisconsin Farm Bureau is excited to provide an opportunity to connect with a local pig farmer during Pork Month.”

Takeover Tuesday is the one day a week where a Farm Bureau member maintains the Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Instagram and/or Snapchat account. They use these platforms to talk about their passion for the agricultural community and answer questions from followers.

While Takeover Tuesday is a standard social media program for WFBF, this month they will take on a special focus for Pork Month.

Farmers and consumers alike can follow along with #WFBFTakeoverTuesday on Instagram as Wisconsin pig farmers and pork enthusiasts share photos and talk about what they do on the farm or how they prepare meals with pork. Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Snapchat account will also be full of activity from farmers and pork-related activities. Follow along by adding “wifarmbureau” on Snapchat.

Wisconsin Farm Bureau will also be hosting a video series of “Ask A Farmer Fridays”. Each Friday during October, a Wisconsin pig farmer will answer a common question about pigs or pork via video on the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Facebook page. Some topics that will be covered include pig’s diets, pig health and wellbeing and eating pork.
