It’s been over 100 years since a news railroad was built in Wisconsin, but about a year ago we talked to the owner of the Great Lakes Basin Transportation Company and building a new rail line was exactly what he wanted to do.
Frank Patton is the managing partner of Great Lakes Basin Transportation and in an earlier interview with the Farm Report stated that he “had forgotten all the reasons why this plan could not be achieved”. As it turns out residents in Rock County came out in droves against the proposed idea.
Rep. Mark Spreitzer represents the 45th Wisconsin Assembly which is home to the proposed new rail line; he joins Bryant to give us an update on where the project is today and how he is doing everything possible to stop the construction of the new line.
