On Wednesday it was announced that the 2020 Farm Technology Days show will be held in Eau Claire County, this will not be the first time that they host the event but as Mark Hagedorn Eau Claire county UW extension Agent says, “since the last time we did this, there has been a lot of water under the bridge or over the dam”. In other words the show has evolved and so has farming practices. Bryant sat down with Hagedorn, who was very excited about the news.
Mark said that when he first brought the idea to the county board there was overwhelming support in fact multiple people wanted the honor requesting that the county put $20,000 aside to get the project rolling. The announcement was just made and Mark tells the Farm Report that he and county 4-H Youth Development Agent Sara Novotny are leading this project together. Mark explains that with all the changes that are happening with UW Extention neither of them know where they might be in three years but they are certain that one of the lead planners will be with Eau Claire County.
Hagedorn contined by explaining that the process of chosing a host farm for the event is not completed by anymeans but he was happy to see so much interest by farmers in the area.
