Badger Bean updates are brought to Wisconsin Farm Report Radio Network listeners, thanks to the Wisconsin Soybean Marketing Board.  The goal is to reinforce for growers how valuable check-off dollars are in research, education and outreach, while educating consumers on the value Wisconsin soybeans bring to the economy and our plates.


White mold, sudden death syndrome (SDS) – bring those phrases up in conversation with a Wisconsin soybean grower and you’ll like get response.  2016 was one of the most challenging years for growers facing those in-field obstacles.  Dr. Shawn Conley, UW-Extension Soybean Specialist, says paying attention to details before planters roll could be the game changer this year.

Soybean cyst nematode exists in 94% of the counties where soybeans are grown in the state.  That could pose major challenges in 2017’s growing season if you don’t know what threshold fields are at.  Dr. Shawn Conley, UW-Extension Soybean Specialist, says there’s been some changes to the testing protocol, thanks to the WI Soybean Marketing Board.
